Although I was into sports and was a national swimmer for 12 years, I also had a weight problem. My diet was terrible until suddenly senior year of high school I discovered secrets of healthy eating and it changed my life. I started eating right, adjusted my exercise regimen, and lost 65 lbs before I enrolled at Virginia Tech.

I decided never again to be known as the chubby kid, continued my exercise routine in addition to walking almost 2 miles everyday all around campus and managed to keep the “freshmen 15” out of my vocabulary.

I studied psychology because it amazed me how much a person’s goals are achieved through their frame of mind.  I learned that a healthy self image can help you achieve anything you want in life.

I still love psychology, but eight more years of school was more than I could deal with. I started working for my father, but sitting at a desk all day clearly did not work either.   I decided to be a personal trainer because it involves doing the two things I love most…exercising and helping people feel good about themselves!

Being someone who knows what it’s like to have a weight management problem, means that I know how to face problems, set goals, and then do what it takes to achieve those goals. As a personal trainer, it is now my goal to help everyone I meet do the same thing. I want to help them visualize what they want to become, lay the steps to be taken to achieve that goal, and then work hard to make it a reality. I am living proof that it can be done!
