Janine Klein has always had a strong interest in fitness and sports related activities. Growing up she was competitively involved in many sports such as swimming, softball, basketball, and martial arts. She earned a second degree black belt in Hwar Do (combination martial art), was a junior Olympic qualifier for swimming, and went on to play competitive college softball. It was not until her junior year in high school that she discovered her interest in therapy. Janine tore her ACL ligament in basketball. That helped her learn patience, understanding and the importance of maintaining physical fitness for injury prevention and overall well being. In her undergraduate college studies at James Madison University, Janine pursued Therapeutic Recreation. Her injury and her positive one-on-one interaction with therapists lead to this interest.
Janine furthered her studies at James Madison University, receiving an MS degree in Kinesiology/Sport and Recreation Management. Her internship within her master’s program was assisting in a first year division one softball program. Janine was an assistant coach and was involved in they yearly training regiment of the collegiate athletes.
Janine has dealt with all ages and abilities through her therapy work and athletics. She was a three year swim team coach for children, worked in various fitness gyms and even in senior centers.
