About Dr. Lilenfeld –
I have nearly 20 years of clinical and research experience, with particular expertise in the treatment of eating disorders and anxiety disorders. As an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at Argosy University in Washington DC, I have extensive experience conducting psychotherapy, teaching and training graduate students and other psychologists, as well as publishing and presenting research internationally. Professional memberships include serving as an elected Fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorders, a member of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and a member of the Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies.
I utilize a collaborative, cognitive-behavioral approach with all of my clients, and particularly with those seeking help for eating disorders or anxiety disorders (OCD, panic, phobias, generalized anxiety), which research has shown to be the most effective approach for these conditions. Therapy is time-limited, targeting thoughts, emotions and behaviors.
Factors that make my practice unique are the integration of extensive clinical and research training to give my clients access to the most effective possible treatments available. In addition to expertise in treating eating disorders and anxiety disorders, I enjoy working with all individuals seeking to enhance their quality of life.
