About Mariana –

Mariana comes from Belo Horizonte in Brazil, where she says, "Everybody works out." Brazilians are very conscious of the way they look and the exercise habit is firmly in place from an early age."

Mariana's parents enrolled her in every sport and physical activity available. She started dancing at the age of two. By nine she belonged to a dance group where she performed ballet, jazz, tap, spanish and modern dance in shows throughout the country. Meanwhile, she also took swimming, volleyball and tennis classes and did gymnastics for a year. At the age of 15, she'd had a enough of those long hours of ballet practice and started pumping iron - and she loved it. "It just did more for my body than anything else I had ever done before, even more than dancing."

Based on outstanding test scores, Mariana earned anacademic scholarship to study in the US by the age of20. While in school, she was shocked with by how unfamiliar Americans were with exercise and all its benefits. Classmates and staffmembers of the school took notice of her dedicationwith physical exercise and asked for help. She startedtraining a few clients for free and soon had a solidpaying clientele.

After graduation, she used her degree incommunications to get a job in an ad agency, but shecould not deal with the long hours behind a computerterminal. She quit after a year and started training full-time. “I love what I do. I love teaching and toexercise. I also get a great feeling when I can helpsomeone improve their lifestyle. Personal Training is the perfect career for me.”

She brings that enthusiasm to her training sessions. No two sessions are ever the same. “I have a method, but I try not to rely solely on machines but alsobring in yoga, Pilates and plyometric moves.”
